I attended Washtenaw Community College since January, 2002, and began the Internet Professional Program in
July, 2003 after finishing my general education requirement classes.
In December of 2004, I received my Associate of Applied Science degree (Internet Professional Program) in Washtenaw Community College
in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In January of 2005, I started my bachelors' degree in (Communication Technology) at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti,
Michigan. I intend to graduate in the Fall of 2006.
My relevant Coursework
Imaging:
From the imaging coursework. I was able to learn the fundamental tools and procedures of desktop publishing using Macintosh and
PC computers. In addition, I mastered covered workspace optimization, image manipulation tools and advanced collage techniques. I
also, gained experience working on user interface and navigation design and creating effective and attractive Web site designs
Multimedia:
In the Multimedia course, I was able to learn and work incorporating audio and video into Web sites. Including studying concepts
that relate to the Web capturing audio and video, editing audio and video, compression codecs required for optimization, and
publishing compressed audio and video.
Coding:
In the coding course, I learned to create pages for the Web using Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML) and Cascading
Styles Sheets (CSS). In addition, formatting techniques as well as developing effective troubleshooting skills.
Projects:
I learned the basic principles involved in developing a user-centered Web Site from concept to completion. I worked in teams to
develop a complete Web Site project plan, and then use this plan as a foundation to create a, functional Web Site. Working with the
client to establish needs and objectives, preparing usable content for the Web and developing an effective user interface. I also,
developed my coding (HTML) skills using both code and Web authoring software (Dreamweaver), learned local and global site
managemented techniques, and implement effective quality assurance testing plans.
